Here is another round of my product reviews. Let me know what you think!!
Lush Bubble Bars
I started using Lush a few years ago after I found them on a trip to Atlanta. Now we finally have them in Houston at the Macy’s store in the Galleria! I love this brand because all of their products are natural and their fragrances come from plants and flowers. One of my favorites are these “bubble bars”. They come in all colors and flavors but I love the lavender one that has a tiny bit of sparkle in it. But beware…a small piece of one goes a long way!
Woolite Dark
I’ve been using this product for about a year and it really helps my workout clothes stay looking new and fresh. Most of my workout pants and jackets are black and I was worried about them fading since I wash them so much. This detergent is specifically for dark clothes and it really works. Most of my pants have kept their deep dark color and don’t look dingy or worn out. I also use it on dark jeans to keep them looking new.
GoFit Kettlebell
Kettlebells have really become popular over the last year. Now you can find them everywhere..including Target, which is where I got my GoFit kettlebell. They range from about $29-$75 and come in a variety of weights/sizes. If you are new to kettlebells, I would suggest going with at 8lb or 10lb one or the 15lb if you regularly lift weights. But, for men (or if you are more advanced) I would go with around 20-25lb. Don’t worry..I know these guys seem very heavy but you need enough weight to make it challenging. You will be swinging and lifting it with your entire body and your legs, core and arms will be getting a workout at the same time! I like this brand because it comes with a pretty good DVD to get you started and a variety of colors. It’s really important to know how to use the kettlebell before you start and if you aren’t sure after watching the DVD I would ask a trainer at your gym to show you. If done right…these little guys will give you an amazing total body workout. I use mine with my clients all the time as a way to mix in some cardio and do isolated sculpting for arms (like single shoulder raises) and abs (like Russian twist).
Laptop Lunches
I saw one of these in last month’s Shape magazine and thought it looked really cute and functional. They remind me of bento box lunches that I had when I went to Japan. It’s kind of a feng shui way to eat your lunch! It keeps everything separated in properly portioned sizes and includes small sections for treats and sauces. They have a variety of styles and sizes on their website along with a huge photo gallery of lunch ideas (they look very tasty) along with some recipes and ideas so your lunches never get boring.
Cut ‘N Clean Greens – Kale
Kale has become the new superfood popping up everywhere over the last few months. Now, not only can it be found sauteed or steamed but in salads, smoothies, soups and pizzas. Kale is great because it provides a ton of antioxidants and high levels of vitamins K,A and C as well as Calcium and Fiber. Dark leafy greens have long been known as one of the healthiest for our diet and some say they have cancer-fighting properties. I bought my “Cut ‘n Clean” kale (in a box already washed) at Whole Foods. I’ve been using mine in salads, soups and in the recipe below.
